Hitting the HHI wrecks

Report Date: October 4, 2008

I took another charter captain out yesterday to do some scouting and mostly just having fun. We started early poling the Harbor Town flats but the reds were super spooky. We managed two well under the slot. The wind was light and variable so we decided to hit the near shore wrecks to see what was up. Man I'm glad we did. We absolutley wore the good size Spanish and blues out. I estimate 30 to 40 fish were caught on light tackle throwing -1's and topwaters. We had to keep about 10 Spanish for the grill. The best part of the day however was hooking my first Bull of the season. He pulled the hook near the boat but it was a good 25Lbs. I think the next couple weeks will see big numbers caught. Its time so lets go.
